The OCD Germanium is the ultimate evolution of one of the most iconic overdrives ever made—reborn with rare components, boutique craftsmanship, and a finish that’s as striking as its tone. This limited Custom Shop version brings back the elusive Germanium diode clipping that featured briefly in the earliest OCD units. Armed with 2 MOSFETs and now 2 hand-selected Germanium diodes, this circuit delivers a warmer, more tube-like response with enhanced touch sensitivity, tighter dynamics, and singing sustain. It’s still the only pedal of its kind to use hard-clipping to a voltage reference rather than ground—preserving clarity and punch across all gain levels.
Housed in a stunning metallic teal enclosure with a chrome undercoat that shifts between rich blues and greens depending on the light, and topped off with a bold blue LED, this OCD doesn’t just sound exceptional—it looks the part too. The tone is dynamic and responsive, with tighter low-end, defined mids, and sweet top-end harmonics, making it a go-to for blues, rock, and everything in between.
